From believing in the importance of tertiary education in developing individuals and enhance their contribution to nation-building, the Lebanese Association for Scientific Research (LASeR) is offering various scholarships to Lebanese, Palestinian and Syrian students resident in Lebanon and Syria.
About the scholarship
- This scholarship is open to all students as it offers bachelor's degree scholarships in partner universities for students who are having financial difficulties and loans with the objective to support students who are willing to undertake their postgraduate and Ph.D. degree.
- The scholarship is renewed at the beginning of each semester based on student´s grades, attendance and the availability of financial support.
- This scholarship includes partner universities that are located in North Lebanon: Akkar, Beirut, and Sidon in various disciplines.
Funding
The scholarship covers 75% of tuition fees for Syrian students and 50% for Lebanese students.
About organization
The Lebanese Association for Scientific Research (LASeR) promotes research, and later employment opportunities, for graduate students studying pressing societal problems in Lebanon. In addition to empowering the graduates to study, pursue, and solve societal problems, LASeR aims to change the social dynamics of Lebanese society by challenging the monopoly and centralization of the education system, currently based on religious sectarianism rather than merit. LASer offer a wide range of opportunities that are otherwise inaccessible to those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. It enables these marginalized talents to be more entrepreneurial by creating an integrated system. It encourages them to be entrepreneurial by making them fund themselves and focus all their resources on solving societal problems.
