PhD Research Scholarship Covering Full Tuition Fees from the University of York in the UK 2020

The University of York in the UK offers fully-funded PhD scholarships for overseas research students.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Open to International (non-EU) students only.
2. You must:
   • have applied for a place of study on a PhD program at York by 31 January 2020
   • be liable to pay tuition fees at the international rate
   • start your research studies in the 2020/21 academic year (between 1 October 2020 and 1 September 2021)
3. You must not hold a 100% tuition fee scholarship from elsewhere or be fully sponsored.
4. Distance learning students are eligible to apply, however, if successful, they would be awarded a full fee waiver only.
5. Applicants for the following pathways are not eligible to apply for the YGRS Overseas Research Scholarships:
   • Hull York Medical School
   • International Pathway College
   • Kaplan International College London
   • Students applying for MPhil or MA by Research programs

Selection Criteria:

Each department selects one preferred and one reserve nominee. If you are selected, your department will pass your details to the University selection panel, with a supporting statement outlining:

1. your academic excellence
2. how your project fits with the department’s research or international strategy
3. how your project fits with the University’s research or international strategy

Funding:

These prestigious PhD scholarships, awarded by the York Graduate Research School, offer full funding (covering 100% of tuition fees, a stipend commensurate with the UKRI rate, plus a research training support grant) for the duration of your enrolment period.
