Opportunity description

Macquarie University is offering Master and PhD scholarships. This scholarship is available to eligible domestic or international candidates to undertake an MRes Year 2 (1 year) + PhD (3 years) program. The scholarship is comprised of a Tuition Fee Offset and a Living Allowance Stipend Scholarship. 

Scholarship Value:

  • The scholarship is comprised of a Tuition Fee Offset and a Living Allowance Stipend Scholarship. 
  • The value and tenure of the scholarship is a MQRES full-time stipend rate of $28,092 per annum (2020 rate, tax exempt and indexed annually)

Entry Requirements

  1. Undergraduate degree from a recognised institution
  2. Minimum overall GPA of 4.38 on a 7 .
  3. A research proposal (a short paragraph is sufficient).
  4. A high level of English language proficiency.
  • You may be eligible for admission directly into the second year of the Master of Research if:
  1. You hold a
    Bachelor degree or,
  2. A masters degree

Required Documents:

  • Official academic transcripts for all prior studies (e.g. Bachelors, Masters, etc) and evidence of current program enrolment (if applicable).
  • If you completed a thesis (or major research project) as part of your degree:
  1. The abstract of the thesis
  2. The percentage (%) of your degree that the thesis was worth
  3. The grade awarded for the thesis component
  4. The duration in months of the thesis component of your degree
  • Passport copy (or Birth Certificate if no passport available)
  • Current Australian visa (for Permanent Residents or Humanitarian Visa holders)
  • English proficiency test result score card or evidence showing you have met the HDR Language Requirements 
  • Detailed CV (including all research output e.g. publications, journal papers etc)
