<p>The University of Queensland in <a href="https://www.for9a.com/en/country/Australia" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Australia</strong></a> offers Barbara Hebden undergraduate <a href="https://www.for9a.com/en/opportunity/category/Scholarships" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>scholarship</strong></a> in Music for International students.&nbsp;</p><h3><strong>About the Scholarship:</strong></h3><p>Barbara Jean Hebden OAM (1931&ndash;2015) was an alumna of UQ (BA 1952) and a prominent music critic. She was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 1999 &quot;for service to the promotion of music and the performing arts in Queensland&quot;. The bursary was established in 2016 by an endowed bequest from her estate. The Barbara Hebden Music Bursary is to support a student enrolling in the first year of the Bachelor of Music (Honours) program. It is awarded to the <a href="https://www.for9a.com/en/opportunity/category/Scholarships/Bachelor" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Bachelor</strong></a> of Music (Honours) applicant showing greatest merit in an audition, with preference given to applicants who audition on instruments identified as priorities for recruitment for that year.</p><h3><strong>Eligibility Criteria:</strong></h3><p>An applicant is eligible for the scholarship if the applicant:</p><ul><li>Submits an application to audition for the Bachelor of Music (Honours) program to the Head, by the closing date for applications.</li><li>Is or intends to be enrolled full-time in the first year of the program.</li></ul><h3><strong>Selection Process:</strong></h3><p>The scholarship is awarded to the applicant showing greatest merit in the audition.</p><h3><strong>Funding:</strong></h3><p>One scholarship will be awarded in a year on the recommendation of the Head that the value of the scholarship is $7,000</p><h3><strong>The University of Queensland:</strong></h3><p>The University of Queensland is a research university primarily located in Queensland&#39;s capital city, Brisbane.
