Opportunity description

The University of Newcastle is offering highly qualified undergraduate international students the opportunity to apply for tuition-fee scholarships (FEBE Golden Jubilee Commemorative International Scholarships) in any program with the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, with long term view to continuation into Research Higher degree candidature. This scholarship is now open for students commencing in the second semester of 2019 to apply.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Have applied for Admission prior to submitting a scholarship application. International students who are seeking advanced standing or credit transfers from other institutions, and who have applied to study in the university, may also submit an application for this scholarship.
  2. Be a new student to the University of Newcastle
  3. Be commencing in an undergraduate program with the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment in the semester of the scholarship offer
  4. Be enrolled full-time
  5. Be enrolling at the Callaghan Campus
  6. Be eligible for entry to the program as a full-fee paying international student
  7. Not hold another faculty-funded scholarship or tuition fee waiver for the same program
  8. Not have previously completed an Australian undergraduate degree program

Selection of the scholar will be on the basis of:

  1. Academic Achievement (including rank) in previously completed studies
  2. Detailed results of all courses completed in the program
  3. Assessment of written statement (career aspirations upon completion of the program and research interests)
  4. Any other supporting statements or documents
  5. Unsuccessful applicants may be considered for the separate Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment International Student Scholarship if eligibility criteria for this scholarship are met

Scholarship amount:

This scholarship will provide full payment of tuition fees ($140,000) each semester for the duration of an undergraduate program (up to 5 years), provided the scholar continues to meet ongoing conditions.
