Opportunity description
The University of East Anglia in the UK is pleased to offer a large number of scholarships for self-funded international undergraduate students to help cover the cost of their studies. These scholarships are designed to reward applicants who have been offered a place to study with UEA and who can clearly and concisely explain how studying at UEA will help them to make an outstanding contribution to their chosen field of study as well as the wider UEA community.
Funding
All applicants to the scholarship will receive a minimum of a £2,000 first year tuition fee discount, whilst a large number of successful applicants will be upgraded to fee discounts of £4,000, £6,000 or £10,000 per year of study.
Eligibility
- When applying to this scholarship, applicants must already be in possession of a conditional or unconditional offer for the first year of an undergraduate degree course starting at UEA in September 2019. Your offer should state that you are an international fee-paying student.
- To be classified as an international fee-paying student you typically need to be a non-EU resident.
- Applicants need to be independently funding their studies, which means that they can’t apply if an organisation is sponsoring their study and paying their tuition fees for them. However, if they will be in receipt of a government loan, they can still apply for this scholarship.
- Offer holders for courses in the Faculty of Medicine and Health are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Note that UEA is looking for a carefully considered, original response that can demonstrate how you believe studying your chosen course at UEA will help you to make a difference in the future to your chosen field of study. Your answers should reflect that you have some understanding of your area of study.
