Opportunity description

UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, as UNDP Ukraine is looking for 2 volunteers to work on analysing latest developments and trends in electronic identification.

UNDP-organized Policy Lab at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine is seeking to widen the understanding of the possible transformation of electronic identification for the trust services and state e-services. This work is aimed at decreasing the digital divide and increasing accessibility of the digital world opportunities. We would like to pay special attention to the vulnerable groups: those from distant areas, elderly, low income, and\or with low and no digital skills. The volunteers will work independently, but with our supervision through the virtual sessions. They will receive a detailed briefing on the assignment and will be able to maintain close contact with the Policy Lab. 

Volunteer duration and working hours:

6-10 hours per week for 4 weeks.

Eligibility criteria:

  • At least 2 years of professional experience. 
  • Volunteers need to be fluent in English. 
  • Basic understanding of the challenges of electronic identification and electronic trust services would be an asset. 
  • Experience in synthesizing large quantities of information into easy to understand findings is preferential. 
  • Please include a complete CV. 

Volunteer task:

  • Conduct primary data collection on sources of news about electronic identification. 
  • After coordinating with Policy Lab determine around 5 schemes of electronic identification, developed by different states, to be described in a detailed way with mapping its strong and weak sides, with special emphasis for people with low income, no digital skills and those in remote areas. 
  • Determine other trends and latest developments (worldwide) in the state and business electronic identification
