UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, as OHCHR Regional Office MENA for a qualified online volunteer to help it translate a study related to ethnic and religious groups from Arabic to English, as well as editing the Arabic language version of the text.
The study looks at the rights of ethnic and religious groups across the MENA region, including in law and in practice. The volunteer's contribution will help us to integrate the findings from the Arabic resources and research into the English-language publication.
Volunteer duration and working hours:
6-10 hours per week for 5 weeks.
Eligibility criteria:
- Candidates should be native in Arabic and fluent in English.
- Strong familiarity with technical terms related to law and human rights is essential.
- A one-paragraph translation will be requested as part of the selection process.
Volunteer task:
- The translation/editing involves both legal and human rights concepts and vocabulary.
- The document will be used by the organization to publish its research on the human rights situation of ethnic and religious groups in the MENA region.
- The text to be translated and/or edited is approximately 50 pages long.
