Opportunity description

UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, to join UN Development Coordination Office (DCO) supports the UN Resident Coordinators and UN Country Teams in 131 countries, who support the governments effort in achieving the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development. The Online Volunteer will support us with a writing and editing task by collecting information nuggets produced by UN Country Teams and their regional offices. 

The DCO is committed to identify, surface and make available emerging good practices and innovative approaches across the 131 UN country teams covering 162 countries, and to provide a forum for experts to connect and learn from each other. 

Volunteer duration and working hours:

1-5 hours per week for 10 weeks.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Professional writing / editing experience in English, including for social media (e.g., websites, blogging platforms), 
  • knowledge/ interests in various topics on sustainable development; 
  • ability to work with people from diverse background; 
  • willingness to learn new things. 

Volunteer task:

  • Volunteer will be extracting good practice and innovative approaches, and producing short written pieces (1-2 pieces per week), in collaboration with the DCO units and the UN staff in the country offices
  • Written pieces the Online Volunteer produces will be featured on the internal knowledge platform, and support peer-to-peer learning across UN Country Teams on the ground.
