Volunteer Online with UN: Digital Content Creation for UNV ESARO

UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, as it is looking for online volunteers experienced in digital communications to join our communications team and help enhance our online presence.

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. We work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated and well supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promote the value and global recognition of volunteerism. UNV is administered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). UNV East and Southern Africa Regional Office covers 23 countries in in East and Southern Africa region. Going into the next half of the year, we aim to enhance our digital presence on social media and our website. The online volunteers will be fully credited for their collaboration and a certificate of satisfaction will be issued at the end of the collaboration and will enhance their professional experience while partaking these assignment. 

Volunteer duration and working hours:

20+ hours per week for 24 weeks.

Eligibility criteria:

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Premiere, Illustrator etc.) or other animation softwares; 
• Strong storytelling skills; 
• Commitment and availability is key; 
• Experience of working with social media is a plus. 
• Ability to communicate in English.

Volunteer task:

1. The volunteer will work with the team to design, develop and schedule digital content (infographics, photos and videos) for all our digital channels on a weekly basis.
2. The volunteer be expected to conduct relevant research on best practices in digital communications, produce targeted creative digital products for promoting UNV's regional messages.
3. The volunteer will be expected to develop a digital campaign administration work plan which includes goals, objectives and measurable workload indicators and shall be provided with documentations to support the assignment.
