Opportunity description
UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, as Rwenzori Center for Research and Advocacy is looking for three qualified volunteers to help in grants writing for funds to construct and operate a community hospital in Uganda.
The vision for this project is to address the issues of high maternal and child mortality rates through both the delivery of actual medical support and as well as through education in order to prevent diseases in the first place. RCRA is embarking on a critical project to construct a not-for–profit mother and child healthcare facility in Kasese, Western Uganda. Strategic objectives of RCRA: • Identify orphaned and other vulnerable children, deliver sustainable and participatory interventions, and mobilize these families to address needs for economic benefits, education and facility health care.
Volunteer duration and working hours:
20+ hours per week for overall five week.
Eligibility criteria:
- History of successful grant writing and documentation of success is required. Volunteer is expected to document in their application their grant writing history and how much have they raised.
- Ability to communicate in English and French.
Volunteer task:
- The volunteer will have the sole responsibility of writing, submitting, and follow up on grants. It is imperative that the volunteer does have solid experience with grant writing and have few leads already.
- The volunteer is expected to focus on generating grants from foundation, institution etc for the purpose of constructing and operating a community hospital in Uganda. Funding is critical to start and complete this project so the volunteer needs to master grant writing.
