Opportunity description
UN Volunteers is offering an online volunteer opportunity. They are looking for two online volunteers who have a background in the field of forestry, hydrology, meteorology, climate change, remote sensing, and/or GIS. The candidates should have strong writing skills and a sincere interest in the aforementioned topics. Selected volunteers would be expected to conduct rigorous literature reviews under the guidance of field experts and in parallel contribute towards manuscript writing in a timely manner. The final product will be a review article in a research journal and based on the level of contributions, the online volunteers would be acknowledged (with a certificate) and/or invited to be a co-author.
Volunteer duration and working hours:
11-20 hours per week / 12 weeks
Eligibility criteria:
- The ideal candidates should have demonstrated writing/publication experience
- And have a Master’sdegree or equivalent (e.g. bachelordegree with 3+ years) in an area related to forestry, hydrology, meteorology, climate change, remote sensing or GIS.
- You should provide your CV, which includes a section (~ 200-250 words) highlighting why you would be the best candidate for this role.
