Volunteer Online with UN: Provide Social Media Marketing Support for Virtual Parenting Summit

UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, as Nathan Ebanks Foundation is looking for 10 volunteers to provide social media marketing in support of parents of children with special needs during the C0VID-19 pandemic, our organization is leading the design and execution of a Virtual Parenting Summit which will run November 30 - December 3, 2020 (3 hours each day).

The Nathan Ebanks Foundation (NEF) is a nonprofit organization, established by the parent of a child with disabiltiies to advocate for and support the participation, inclusion and empowerment of children with disabilities. Located the NEF has been serving children and families through the use of volunteers for the past 14 years. The Virual Parenting Summit was designed as a response to the pressing need to help support parents, families, and professionals during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Children with disabilities are now at home all of the time and parents and families are feeling overwhelmed and isolated. Teachers are also struggling to find innovative ways to support the children using distance learning. One major effect of social distancing for children with disabilities is that they are no longer accessing life-changing therapies such as occupational, speech and physical therapy. 

Volunteer duration and working hours:

1-5 hours per week for 6 weeks.

Eligibility criteria:

1. The volunteer must be an experienced social or digital media marketer. Experience in working with YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin are distinct assets. 
2. The volunteer must also be reliable and able to work with teams and with tight timelines. 
3. Ability to communicate in English.

Volunteer task:

We are seeking an experienced digital marketer and promoter to be part of our virtual event team. The tasks will include:

1. Help with planning the summit and setting up invitation links.
2. Use my marketing skills and social media and forums to promote the event to new audiences
3. Moderate Facebook and Instagram Pages for the duration of the campaign and the event
4. Provide social media and content marketing for the duration of the campaign.
