UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, as UNDP Global Programme on Nature for Development is looking for a 2 qualified online volunteers to help in assessing the quality of the current UX design of UNDP's E-learning platform Learning for Nature, and will propose improvements based on the latest EX/UI trends.
Learning for Nature is a premier e-learning programme by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This programme connects biodiversity policymakers, change-makers, and on-the-ground subject matter experts to facilitate the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Learning for Nature offers capacity-building opportunities for scaling up efforts for nature-based sustainable development through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), webinars, self-paced e-learning modules, and private training courses.
Volunteer duration and working hours:
20+ hours per week for 3 weeks.
Eligibility criteria:
- Proficient in User Experience Design on web and mobile.
- Solid knowledge of User Experience Research
- Native-level command of English
Volunteer task:
These recommendations will help ensure quality user experience on the site, making the platform more accessible for a global, diverse, and multi-lingual site audience. Specifically, the task will be divided into three stages:
- Stage 1: Analysis (1 week). The Online Volunteer (OV) will do a detailed review of the site's menu and course rooms, taking notes of the UX features that need to be improved.
- Stage 2: Recommendations (1 week). The OV will compile a Google document with specific recommendations for the website specialist on changes to be made in line with the latest trends, including visual examples. UNDP will provide a template for the OV to fill out.
- Stage 3: Final assessment (1 week). Once the changes are made, the OV will evaluate if additional UX improvements are recommended.
