UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, as UNITAR is seeking 2 volunteers will edit some instructional videos about Weapon and Ammunition Management in the Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration context.
As a result of COVID-19 limitations, UNITAR, DPO and UNODA aim to produce a series of videos on Standards and Guidelines of effective full-life cycle Weapon and Ammunition Management in a Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration context. The content is designed to offer an overview of the Normative Frameworks to apply when planning and implementing Weapons and Ammunition Management activities, in line with the revised United Nations Integrated Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Standards (IDDRS). These videos are part of an online training on Weapon and Ammunition Management in DDR contexts to support the development of knowledge and skills related to SDG 16 promoting Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
Volunteer duration and working hours:
20+ hours per week for one week.
Eligibility criteria:
- Online Volunteers with professional experience in video production in possession of the required equipment (computer, video editing software, reliable internet connection);
- Access to the software PowerPoint is desirable;
- Ability to respect branding guidelines and deadlines;
- Knowledge of English is essential for this task;
- Capacity to optimize the weight of the video for low internet connectivity contexts is an asset. Please include your portfolio, applications without will not be considered.
Volunteer task:
- The thematic area includes the normative framework, arms control framework, WAM standards and guidelines, UN approach to DDR.
- Each video will last 20 minutes max. and will be composed of shots with trainers delivering content facing the camera and shots with slides.
- The content will be provided to the Online Volunteers (OV) who will edit the videos according to the storyboard and following the branding and design guidelines to ensure uniformity between all videos.
- The videos are due by the beginning of November and the OV should be available starting November 9.
- Each video will be delivered in two versions, one in English and the other in French with a voice-over.
- Each OV will edit two videos, will send the final videos and the original files, and will work closely with the UNITAR team to provide an outcome which meets the requirements.
