Opportunity description

The United Nations is offering a volunteer opportunity in Egypt within the Regional Development and Protection Programme (RDPP). The overall objective from the Regional Development and Protection Programme (RDPP) is to respond to the migration challenges encountered in Egypt by building the resilience and capacity of communities hosting migrants to absorb and support vulnerable migrants and ensure community stability, as well as strengthening the rights of migrants in the region.

Objectives:

  1. The project focuses on three main pillars; employability, entrepreneurship and community cohesion among migrants and host communities.
  2. The objective of this task is to create a design of a tote bag that reflects the merge between cultures and can speak diversity and inclusivity.
  3. The successful design will be printed by IOM Egypt and will be disseminated during events/meetings with various stakeholders.

Tasks:

  1. The volunteer would have to create the design of a bag (tote bag style) for the RDPP, with the logos of the organization, for visibility/marketing purposes.
  2. The bag design is required to reflect “community cohesion” meaning that it merges different culture designs together.
  3. The design is required to be vibrant and vocal rather than a simple design.
  4. The volunteer will be provided with general ideas and background on the program to have a clear understanding of what is looked for. However, It is also open to the volunteer's own creative input.
  5. The volunteer will be in constant direct contact with the unit in charge through email, or Skype/WhatsApp calls if needed. The date for the finalization of the task is as soon as possible, with the final deadline the end of December 2019, thus volunteers with more availability will be preferred.

Requirements:

The volunteer is expected to have relevant experience in graphic design, fashion or a similar field.
