UN Volunteers is offering a volunteer opportunity to write an online university course in the field of Energy, environment and sustainable natural resources management, for PEOI. Professional Education, Testing and Certification International Fund, known as PEOI, a provider of university-level courses free of charge, seeks authors with a background in teaching or work experience, who would like to join a group of colleagues developing a course in ecological audit and numerous other courses in environmental science. Applicants are welcome to work on cases, assignments, reading lists, summaries, class discussions, review and test questions, as well as research and add examples, statistics and citations. All PEOI's course pages are in HTML. Applicants will not be responsible for any HTML code, but only for the text in between. Content can be imported from open education resources, i.e. material that is not copyright restricted such as in Wikipedia or courseware at major universities. Candidates must have the skills to locate and import such material. Depending on their qualifications they may be called upon to grade assignments, monitor class discussions or answer student questions.

Duration:
6-10 hours per week for 52 weeks.
Eligibility:
- An advanced university degree is a MUST. Teaching in university or work experience in related fields desirable.
- Advanced computer skills since all work are done online, and applicants must learn how to navigate PEOI's platform and master PEOI's online procedures.
- Applicants must be registered at PEOI and show their qualifications. They need to submit a CV.
- PEOI's courses are normally first written in English, but they can also be developed in French, Spanish or any of PEOI's operating languages.

PEOI is a non-profit organization that started in 1999 and now run by over 8000 volunteers, that deliver complete university-level courses online at www.peoi.org in eleven languages free of charge. PEOI's courses include interconnected learning tools with submission of assignments, class discussions and automated graded tests, that allow PEOI to award course completion certificates.
