Volunteering for the Community in Romania from European Solidarity Corps

European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is offering a Volunteer opportunity for youth aged between 18-30, who are motivated to work in the context of the Social challenges and speaking the English language at least a basic level.

Project Description:

The idea of the project is to build something lasting, sustainable and so the idea of a Volunteer Center that came with an offer of activities, but especially to act as a volunteer HUB for everything that happens in the community. The HUB promotes and relies on volunteering, locally and internationally, on the direct involvement of young people, contributing to the cohesion of the NGO environment in Craiova, promoting democracy and active participation in general, and in particular through the Youth Advisory Council, responding in real-time to needs community, identified by young people and solved by young people. 

The activities of the volunteers will be divided into: 

• Mapping opportunities in the community, by contacting local NGOs. 
• Creating for each willing NGO a presentation of the opportunities they have.
• Organization of the event Volunteer Festival.

Funding:

Accommodation will be provided in the protocol rooms of the student dormitories, where 3 or 4 people of the same sex will live in the room. The rooms have their own bathroom and common kitchen, equipped according to the needs. The transport will be provided according to the distance band computer of the EC and the local transport will be provided by the project. The food allowance along with the pocket money in the amount of 240 euros (150 euros food and 90 euros pocket) per month that the volunteers will receive at the end of the month.

Training During the Project:

Social media and video editing training course delivered by an authorized company for 5 days.
