<p>King Abdulaziz Center for world culture (Ithra) announces the call for participation in the third edition of its annual art <a href="https://www.for9a.com/en/opportunity/category/Competitions-and-Awards" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>prize</strong></a> is now open. This completion aims at funding unique artists in order to enable them to execute their artistic ideas and is distinguished by its rewards for winners, as it gives artists the opportunity to present their artworks, and to make it a non-separable part of Ithra&#39;s permanent collection.</p><h3>Specifications of the Proposed Artwork:</h3><ol><li>Should be brand new and exclusive to Ithra and Art Dubai fair.</li><li>To be made of durable materials, as it will be exhibited more than one time, so it can&#39;t be perishable.</li><li>To fit into shipping boxes, in order to be sent to Ithra, where it will be placed among the permanent collection.</li><li>Not to weigh more than 500 kgs per square meter, and to have dimensions of 4 by 2.5 meters.</li></ol><p><strong>As for proposal and budget</strong></p><ul><li>The budget offered by Ithra should never be exceeded under no circumstances.</li><li>The proposal has to be detailed, in terms of project production and management expenses (artist&#39;s reward included), and schemes for all shipping, packaging, unwrapping activities in Dubai and Damam. Plus shipping from artist&#39;s domicile into &ldquo;Art Dubai&rdquo; Fair, then from there into Ithra center.</li></ul><h3>Eligibility Criteria:</h3><ol><li>Participants should be Saudis or lived in Saudi Arabia for 10 years or more.</li><li>The minimum age for an applicant is 18 years.</li><li>Artists are allowed to participate individually or as a group, on the condition that only one artwork can be submitted by a given individual or group.</li></ol><h3>Award:</h3><p>Funding for the winner to execute the proposed project in the amount of $100.000.</p><h3>Required Documents:</h3><ul><li>Proposals must include a biography listing education, and if applicable, previous exhibitions and awards.</li></ul><p><strong>Proposals must include:</strong></p><ul><li>Artwork concept</li><li>Artwork title</li><li>Artwork medium</li><li>Artwork dimensions and weight</li><li>Installation plan - detailed report of how to display the proposed artwork</li><li>Supporting visuals of the artwork (sketches/ images)</li><li>Production timeline - detailed project schedule including milestones for all weeks leading up to Art Dubai in March 2020</li><li>The production timeline should include any travel and research required, as well as details of the production and shipping to Dubai.</li></ul><h3>About Ithra:</h3><p>King Abdulaziz Center for world culture (Ithra) is a cultural center and hub for creatives.
