The Faculty of Media and Communication at Bournemouth University in England invites writers&nbsp;all over the world at any age to participate in its <a href="https://www.for9a.com/en/opportunity/category/Competitions-and-Awards" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">competition</a>&ldquo;New Media Writing Prize NMWP&rdquo;. This competition aims to encourage all the innovative storytellers to work on creative and interactive storytelling (fiction or nonfiction) written specifically for reading and viewing on a PC or Mac, the web, or a hand-held device such as an iPad or mobile phone. &nbsp;Storytelling could entail a short story, novel, documentary or poem using words, images, film or animation with audience interaction. The prize encourages and promotes the best in new media writing and is leading the way toward the future of the written word and storytelling.<h3>The Competition Categories and Criterion:</h3>Criteria for The if: book UK Award and Unicorn Student Award:<ol><li>Innovative use of new (digital) media/transmedia to create an engaging, satisfying narrative, or poem, Ease of accessibility for the reader/viewer.</li><li>Effective use of interactive elements.</li><li>A great example of how new media can do things traditional media can&rsquo;t.</li><li>The potential to reach out to a wide audience and not just specialist interest groups.</li></ol>Criteria for The Dot Award:&nbsp;The prize will be awarded for a project idea which, in the judges&rsquo; opinion, shows promise and practicability. &nbsp;The Dot Award competition requires projects which aren&rsquo;t necessarily technically complex but do create original and exciting literary work inspired by the affordances of the web, blogs, apps, social media etc.Criteria for The Journalism Award:&nbsp;<ol><li>Innovative use of new media to create an engaging, satisfying fact-based narrative.</li><li>Does not need to be topical, but must be socially relevant.</li><li>Must adhere to journalistic standards of accuracy and fairness.</li><li>Ease of accessibility for the reader/viewer.</li><li>Effective use of interactive elements.</li><li>An example of how new media can do things that traditional media cannot do.</li><li>The potential to reach out to a wide audience and not just specialist interest groups.</li></ol>Criteria for the Skylab Innovation Award:<ol><li>innovative use of the Generator platform to create an engaging, satisfying fiction or non-narrative.</li><li>Effective use of interactive elements.</li><li>An example of how Genarrator can do things that traditional media cannot do.</li><li>The potential to reach out to a wide audience and not just specialist interest groups.</li></ol><h3>The Prizes:</h3><ol><li>Unicorn Student Award: &pound;750 donated by Unicorn Trainingز</li><li>&nbsp;If:book UK New Media Writing Prize: &pound;1000 donated by if:book UK, where the winner may be a student.</li><li>&nbsp;The&nbsp;Wanderlust Magazine&nbsp;Journalism Award: &pound;750 offered by Wanderlust Magazine for innovative and important digital journalism, where the winner may also be a student.</li><li>&nbsp;The Dot Award: &pound;500 and development support, offered by if:book UK, where the winner may also be a student.</li><li>&nbsp;Skylab Innovation Award, &pound;500 sponsored by Skylab and Bournemouth University.&nbsp;</li></ol>See more available <a href="https://www.for9a.com/en/opportunity/category/Grants">grants</a> on For9aSee more available<a href="https://www.for9a.com/en/opportunity/category/Residencies-and-Exchange-Programs">&nbsp;exchange programs</a> on For9a
