Opportunity description

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is accepting applications for the International Fellowships 2027–2028, a financial support program designed for women from outside the United States who wish to pursue full-time Master’s or doctoral studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

The program aims to support academically outstanding women who seek to strengthen their scientific and professional expertise and who demonstrate a clear commitment to using their knowledge and skills to benefit their communities or home countries and expand opportunities for women and girls.

The fellowship is primarily awarded for study in the United States, with a limited number of awards available for study outside the United States under specific conditions.

Benefits

  • Funding of USD 20,000 for Master’s students.
  • Funding of USD 25,000 for doctoral students.
  • The fellowship amount is paid directly to the recipient in two equal installments: the first at the beginning of the fellowship period and the second at the midpoint.
  • The opportunity to pursue full-time study at an accredited U.S. institution in a STEM field.
  • The fellowship is open to women from outside the United States, giving international students access to financial support for graduate studies.
