Opportunity description

King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) offers the Visiting Student Program, a program that allows outstanding Saudi students enrolled at Saudi universities to study one regular academic semester at KFUPM.

The program aims to give students the opportunity to experience a distinguished academic journey in an advanced university and research environment, with the possibility of registering for courses related to their current majors and transferring the earned credit hours to their home universities.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants must be Saudi nationals or have a Saudi mother.
  • Applicants must be full-time regular undergraduate students at a Saudi university.
  • Applicants must have completed their first academic year, excluding the preparatory year.
  • Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.75 out of 4.00 or 4.75 out of 5.00.

Applicants must have a minimum STEP score of 80, or its equivalent:

  • TOEFL iBT: a minimum score of 60.
  • IELTS: a minimum score of 5.5.

Applicants must meet the course requirements and prerequisites for the courses they wish to study.

Applicants must submit an official approval letter from their home university stating the courses they wish to study at KFUPM.

  • A copy of the national ID.
  • Academic transcript.
  • Proof of enrollment at the home university.
  • Proof of English language proficiency through STEP, TOEFL, or IELTS.
  • An official approval letter from the home university including the requested courses.
