La Volière invites contemporary aerial circus and aerial dance artists to a partially funded residency program that aims to identify and support emerging artists of the field. It will take place between July and August 2023 for a continuous period / between January and June 2023 for a split period of residency. This program provides free use of the creation space to work on your creative process and/or to finalize your creative project, as well as A financial contribution, which will be made to support the process.
Benefits
If you get this residency, you will have:
- Depending on the project selected, the dedicated envelope will be as follow:
- 1 person in residency: € 1,500 all tax included
- 2 persons in residency: € 2,300 all tax included
- 3 persons in residency: € 3,000 all tax included
Please note: This financial contribution may be used in different ways:
- Artistic Fees for team rehearsals.
- And/or
- Transport or Accommodation costs.
Eligibility criteria
You should follow the following criteria:
- The project can be submitted by one artist, a company of artists, a production, or a distribution organization.
- The aesthetic of the project must be contemporary, in the field of aerial circus and/or aerial dance.
- Proposals should not be technically challenging to be installed.
- The project team must:
- Be a maximum of 3 persons to host on-site.
- Engaged in a professional path and artistic activity.
- Speak French and/or English.
- Young emerging artists whose projects are in the process of being structured will be given preference.
- Projects for which the residency at La Volière will be one of the first residencies will be preferred.
- Residency duration must be comprised between 1 and 2 weeks maximum, either continuously or in a split.

La Volière is a cultural and artistic place dedicated to circus arts and related arts. Unifying project: both a circus school, an artistic factory, a laboratory for social ties, and a platform for international exchanges. La Volière proposes to imagine or rather reinvent the disciplines around the contemporary circus which, more than ever, are changing in today's world; with that many openings on the educational, artistic, intellectual, cultural, and economic level.
