Eligibility criteria

- The work must not have previously won first place in another competition before the date specified in the competition rules.
- First-place winners of the Allingham competitions in 2024 and 2025 are not eligible to enter the 2026 edition.
- Applicants may participate from outside Ireland, provided they meet all other eligibility requirements.
Flash Fiction Category Requirements
- The submission must not exceed 700 words.
- Each applicant may submit up to 5 entries.
- The work must be written in English.
- The work must be original and previously unpublished.
- Each entry must be submitted in a separate file.
Poetry Category Requirements
- Each poem must not exceed 40 lines.
- Each applicant may submit up to 5 poems.
- The poem must be written in English.
- The poem must be original and previously unpublished.
