The University of Agder is a public Norwegian university located in the south of the country, with academic roots going back over 190 years, and officially established as a university in 2007. The university focuses on international collaboration and innovation, hosting students and faculty from around the world, and offers many international programs taught in English.
The Academic Esports program is an international bachelor’s degree taught in English at the Grimstad campus, designed to transform video gaming skills into applied capabilities in areas such as sports coaching, health, technology, and professional education. The program covers academic, physiological, and psychological aspects, along with topics like training, recovery, athlete performance, marketing, entrepreneurship, cybersecurity, and game design. In the sixth semester, students choose one of four specializations: Professional Player, Industry and Competitive Environment, Technology and Innovation, or Education and Health.
