The Claret Press Short Story Contest invites submissions for stories reflecting today’s politics. Entries should be original, unpublished creative prose, and must be under 5,000 words. Participants should subscribe to the 'A Sip of Claret News' mailing list. The judges are Tessa Glover, Katie Isbester, and Ann Whitehead. There is a £5 entry fee. Prizes are awarded as follows: First prize – £50, Second prize – £30, Third prize – £20. The deadline for entries is March 1, 2026. Please note that this is an external competition and all applications must be made through their website.
