Competition for Artists from The Moth and Winning a Financial Prize €1,000

The Moth magazine invites artists and illustrators all over the world to participate in the art competition. This competition is looking for two-dimensional portraiture, figurative, or other representational work of any size. This gives you the chance to feature your works in The Moth.

If you win this competition, you will get:

• Prize valued at €1,000. 

You should follow these rules:

• The Prize is open to anyone worldwide over the age of 16.
• Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant.
• The work must be figurative or representational in style. 
• Paintings, drawings (including mixed media), and original prints will be accepted.
• A portfolio should consist of images of 5–10 pieces of your original artwork.
• Entries must consist of high-resolution images.
• Postal entries will not be returned.
• No corrections can be made after receipt, or fees refunded.

Please note:

1. The entry fee is €18 per portfolio of 5–10 works.
2. The winner will be notified by 30 September 2021.
3. Worldwide copyright of each entry remains with the artist, but The Moth will have the unrestricted right to print some or all of the winning artwork in a future issue of The Moth and any relevant promotional material.

THE JUDGING PROCESS

Your work will be judged by the publishers of The Moth, Rebecca O’Connor, and Will Govan and based on:

• Work that is courageous and bold.
• In tune with the aesthetic of The Moth.
• Contemporary but timeless.
