Opportunity description
The Voluntariat Pentru Viață Association is accepting applications for the Momentum Individual Volunteering Project, which will take place in Mărășești, Romania, under the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) programme.
The project aims to support children, young people, and local communities through non-formal education, creative and cultural activities, and community initiatives. It also helps volunteers gain international experience and develop independence, responsibility, communication, and teamwork skills.
Volunteering Duration and Location
- Location: Mărășești, Romania.
- Activity type: Individual volunteering.
- Project duration: 36 weeks.
- Starting date: September 15, 2026.
- Ending date: June 30, 2027.

Benefits and Funding
Selected volunteers will receive:
- Accommodation in furnished and fully equipped shared apartments.
- Access to a kitchen, bathroom, internet connection, and essential utilities.
- Accommodation support of EUR 150 per month, according to the announcement.
- A personal allowance of EUR 120 per month.
- Reimbursement of international travel costs according to the European Solidarity Corps distance calculator.
- Support with travel arrangements and transportation related to project activities.
- Coverage of essential needs, including accommodation and food, in accordance with European Solidarity Corps rules.
- Insurance throughout the volunteering period.
- Language support, training, and mentorship.
- Additional support for volunteers with fewer opportunities or special needs.
Duties & responsibilities
- Organize educational and recreational activities for children and young people.
- Deliver creative workshops and non-formal learning activities.
- Participate in activities at primary and secondary schools.
- Support local community initiatives and events.
- Organize cultural exchange activities between volunteers and local residents.
- Participate in environmental and social awareness campaigns.
- Engage with community members and contribute to reducing social isolation.
- Help design activities that encourage young people to participate in their communities.
- Work as part of an international and multicultural team.
- Propose new ideas and initiatives suited to the needs of the local community.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be between 18 and 30 years old at the start of the activity.
- Be legally residing in one of the countries eligible under the official announcement.
- Be interested in working with children, young people, and the local community.
- Be motivated to participate in educational and social activities.
- Be willing to live and work as part of an international team.
- Demonstrate responsibility, flexibility, and openness to different cultures.
- Be willing to learn the Romanian language.
- Commit to the full duration of the volunteering project.
- Participate actively in all project activities.
