Opportunity description

Hope for us-2008 offers a group volunteering opportunity titled ROOTS AWAKENING 3.0 TEAMS in the village of Bunovo, Bulgaria. The project aims to support the local community while helping participants develop practical and personal skills through environmental and community-based activities focused on green skills, physical and mental well-being, entrepreneurship, and collaboration with the local eco-community. Activities include eco-construction, sustainable agriculture, landscape management, and supporting the development of the eco-hub’s infrastructure.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Applicants must be 18 to 30 years old.
  • Be committed to participating for the entire project duration of 59 days.
  • Have an interest in environmental initiatives and community development.
  • Be willing to adapt to rural living and a healthy, sustainable lifestyle.
  • No previous experience in volunteering or environmental work is required.
  • The opportunity promotes equal participation and is open to applicants regardless of nationality, social background, or economic status.
  • Be prepared to live in a simple eco-friendly environment that includes outdoor facilities such as compost toilets and solar-powered showers.

Eligibility criteria

  • Participate in eco-construction projects using natural materials and traditional building techniques.
  • Assist with organic farming activities, including growing and preserving organic fruits and vegetables.
  • Apply Permaculture principles to support biodiversity and sustainable land management.
  • Contribute to landscaping and environmental conservation activities.
  • Support the local eco-community and take part in its initiatives and events.
  • Help build and maintain the infrastructure of the eco-center.
  • Participate in community-building activities and personal development sessions.
