Opportunity description
Sistem ve Jenerasyon Derneği (System & Generation – S&G) in Ankara, Türkiye, is welcoming international volunteers to join a long-term individual volunteering program under the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), lasting up to 271 days, including travel days.
The program provides volunteers with diverse hands-on experience in NGO work and community initiatives. Volunteers may contribute to project management, event organization, digital communication, social media management, office support, and content creation for the Youth Magazine.
The experience also extends beyond administrative work. Volunteers may participate in conversation clubs and community initiatives, work with children, refugees, and people with disabilities, support activities in schools and kindergartens, and contribute to environmental projects.
Volunteering Benefits and Funding
Accepted volunteers receive:
- Accommodation throughout the volunteering period.
- A food allowance of EUR 6 per day.
- Pocket money of EUR 6 per day.
- A combined food and personal allowance of up to EUR 12 per day.
- Travel cost coverage based on distance and the applicable Erasmus+ program rules.
- Participation in a long-term program lasting up to 271 days, including travel days.
- Practical experience in project management and development.
- Training and development of digital skills, including website and social media work.
- Hands-on experience working within an NGO environment.
- Participation in community initiatives involving children, refugees, and people with disabilities.
- Development of communication, teamwork, and intercultural skills.
- Participation in projects related to environment, sustainability, citizenship, and community engagement.
Duties & responsibilities
The volunteer’s tasks may include:
- Supporting the organization’s daily administrative and office activities.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of projects.
- Managing and creating content for social media platforms.
- Developing skills related to websites and digital communication.
- Contributing to the organization’s Youth Magazine.
- Participating in the English Conversation Club.
- Taking part in projects related to languages and local cuisine.
- Organizing and participating in community activities and events.
- Supporting activities involving children, refugees, and people with disabilities.
- Participating in activities at kindergartens and schools.
- Contributing to environmental protection initiatives.
- Introducing the volunteer’s home culture and promoting diversity and intercultural exchange
Eligibility criteria
The organization is looking for young people who:
