UN Women is accepting applications for a funded national volunteer opportunity for the position of Project and Financial Assistant at its office in Rabat, Morocco. The assignment will last approximately 6 months, from September 15, 2026 to March 31, 2027, and will be full-time and based at the United Nations office.
The opportunity is part of the project Resilience & Food Security: Integrated Solutions for Rural Women in Tata Facing the Impact of Locust and Water Crises, which aims to strengthen the resilience of rural women in the Tata region in addressing water shortages, locust outbreaks, and environmental risks through solutions that integrate gender equality and disaster risk reduction.
The project focuses on engaging women in the use of water-saving technologies and household water reuse, introducing smart technologies such as drones to support locust monitoring, strengthening women’s capacities to prevent fires in palm groves, and supporting their participation in the sustainable management of ecosystems.
This is one of the funded United Nations volunteering opportunities suitable for individuals with experience in financial administration, project management, international development, economics, and finance.

- A monthly living allowance of MAD 14,215.5.
- An initial payment of USD 350 before the start of the assignment.

Duties & responsibilities
- Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities.
- Provide administrative support in preparing work plans, budgets, and project proposals.
- Monitor budgets and expenditures and analyze the use of financial resources.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial reports.
- Create projects in the Quantum system and prepare budget revisions.
- Review project allocations and help identify unused funds.
- Support the operational and financial closure of projects.
- Create invoices and requisitions in the Quantum system.
- Record Goods Receipts in the system.
- Organize the logistical, administrative, and financial arrangements for meetings, consultations, and national and regional events.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must:
- Be between 18 and 80 years old.
- Have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Be a Moroccan citizen, a legal resident of Morocco, or hold refugee status in Morocco.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in International Development, International Relations, Economics, Finance, or an equivalent field.
- Be fluent in French.
- Be fluent in English.
- Working knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset.
- Have professional experience in development programmes related to human rights and financial management processes.
- Have strong drafting and report-writing skills.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Be able to work effectively in a multicultural team and meet deadlines.
