Opportunity description
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), in cooperation with the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program, has opened applications for a paid volunteering opportunity in Amman, Jordan. The selected volunteer will serve as an Education (PROSPECTS) Knowledge Management and Evidence Associate for 16 months, with the possibility of extension.
The assignment aims to support UNICEF’s Education Centre of Excellence in knowledge management, evidence generation, and content development related to the inclusion of refugee, displaced, and migrant children in education systems. The volunteer will contribute to preparing studies, documenting good practices, analyzing data, producing evidence-based materials and knowledge products, and coordinating with UNICEF offices in countries participating in the PROSPECTS program, including Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, and Sudan.

Duties & responsibilities
The volunteer’s responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing a knowledge base containing evidence and good practices related to children’s education during displacement and migration.
- Collecting and analyzing lessons learned from UNICEF country offices and partner organizations in the target countries.
- Preparing case studies, newsletters, blog posts, briefing notes, and other knowledge products.
- Supporting the dissemination of UNICEF’s educational evidence and resources.
- Conducting literature reviews and desk research on the education of refugee, displaced, and migrant children.
- Analyzing the factors affecting access to education and continued participation in learning.
- Contributing to the preparation of country profiles and thematic analyses related to refugee inclusion in education systems.
- Supporting global initiatives under the PROSPECTS4Youth program and the Youth Advisory Network.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must:
- Be between 20 and 32 years old.
- Be a refugee, asylum seeker, internally displaced person, or migrant.
- Be a citizen or legal resident of Jordan, or hold recognized refugee status in Jordan.
- Explain in the motivation letter the challenges they have faced in transitioning from education to the labor market.
- Have at least one year of experience in volunteering or community engagement.
- Be fluent in both Arabic and English.
- Knowledge of French is preferred.
- Have good skills in using Microsoft Office applications and the internet.
- Be able to work effectively within a multicultural team.
- Women and persons with disabilities are particularly encouraged to apply.
