Semper Avanti is offering a long-term individual volunteering opportunity in Opole, Poland, through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC). The volunteering experience lasts 10 to 12 months, providing participants with the opportunity to integrate into the local community while contributing to a wide range of educational, social, and cultural activities.

According to the hosting organization, volunteers may work with children and young people during school hours or evening workshops, support activities for senior citizens, or take part in local cultural events and community initiatives. Potential activities include language workshops, intercultural exchange, sports and recreational activities, arts and crafts, cultural events, and creative community projects.

Duties & responsibilities

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants should generally be between 18 and 30 years old, in accordance with the European Solidarity Corps requirements.
  • Applicants must be nationals or legal residents of a country eligible to participate in the project.
  • Applications are accepted from several Arab countries, including Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, and Tunisia.
  • Applicants must have at least a B1 level of English.
  • A genuine interest in working with children, young people, or senior citizens is required.
  • Previous experience is not mandatory; however, experience working with children or older adults is considered an advantage.
  • Applicants should be patient, open-minded, and flexible.
  • They must be able to adapt to changing activities and responsibilities.
  • A strong sense of responsibility, commitment, and reliability is required.
  • Applicants should demonstrate initiative, creativity, and a willingness to contribute new ideas.
  • They must be able to work effectively within an international and multicultural team.
