Opportunity description

KDIE Association in Hungary announces a short-term volunteering opportunity under the YouFuture programme, a team volunteering programme within the European Solidarity Corps in high-priority areas.

The opportunity takes place in Kállósemjén, Hungary, for a duration of 30 days. It aims to train international volunteers in disaster preparedness, community resilience, first aid, crisis awareness, solidarity, and humanitarian work.

The programme combines workshops, practical simulations, field visits, teamwork, intercultural learning, and community activities. Volunteers will also participate in preparing awareness materials and supporting local activities targeting children, youth, and adults, with the aim of strengthening emergency response skills, active citizenship, cooperation, and intercultural dialogue.

Duties & responsibilities

  1. Participate in workshops on disaster preparedness and community resilience.
  2. Learn and take part in first aid and emergency response training.
  3. Carry out simulations related to evacuation, fire prevention, flood protection, and crisis management.
  4. Participate in field visits and practical learning activities.
  5. Prepare awareness materials on disaster prevention and crisis preparedness.
  6. Support local community activities targeting children, youth, and adults.
  7. Participate in intercultural dialogue and teamwork activities.
  8. Contribute to local awareness campaigns on humanitarian work and community resilience.
  9. Attend guided discussion and reflection sessions on war awareness and humanitarian education.
  10. Collaborate with volunteers and the local team to implement the programme’s daily activities.

Eligibility criteria

  • The applicant must be a young person who is motivated to learn and work in a team.
  • The applicant must be able to communicate in English.
  • The applicant should be interested in disaster preparedness, climate change, community resilience, humanitarian issues, and local community work.
  • The applicant must be open to cooperating with people from different cultural backgrounds.
  • The applicant must be responsible, organized, tolerant, and respectful.
  • The applicant must be ready to actively participate in all programme activities.
  • No professional background or previous specialized experience is required.
  • The most important factors are motivation, openness, willingness to learn, and commitment to participation.
