UN Women in Morocco is offering a funded national volunteer opportunity for the position of Project and Financial Assistant, working full-time in Rabat for 6 months under the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme. The assignment is expected to begin on September 15, 2026, and continue until March 31, 2027.
The assignment is part of the UN Women project titled “Resilience & Food Security: Integrated Solutions for Rural Women in Tata Facing the Impact of Locust and Water Crises”, which aims to strengthen the resilience of rural women in the Tata region in addressing challenges related to water crises, locust outbreaks, and environmental risks, through gender-responsive and disaster risk reduction solutions.

- A monthly living allowance of MAD 14,215.5.
- An initial USD 350 entry lump sum before the start of the assignment.
- A USD 175 relocation allowance at the beginning and end of the assignment if the duty station is outside the established commuting distance.
- 2.5 days of annual leave per month.
- Comprehensive insurance coverage, including health insurance, life insurance, and malicious acts insurance.
- Health insurance coverage for up to 3 eligible dependents, subject to UNV conditions.

- An end-of-service allowance of USD 120 for each successfully completed month, payable after completion of the assignment.
Duties & responsibilities
- Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities.
- Assist in preparing work plans, budgets, and project proposals.
- Monitor budgets and expenditures and analyze the use of funds.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial reports.
- Create projects and conduct budget revisions through the Quantum system.
- Assist in identifying unutilized funds and supporting the financial and operational closure of projects.
- Create invoices and purchase requisitions related to project activities.
- Record the receipt of goods in the Quantum system.
- Carry out administrative, financial, and logistical arrangements for meetings, consultations, and national and regional events.
- Support the preparation of periodic reports and donor reports.
Eligibility criteria
- Applicants must be Moroccan citizens, legal residents of Morocco, or hold refugee status in Morocco.
- Have at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
- International Development.
- International Relations.
- Economics.
- Finance.
- Or an equivalent field.
- Have at least 3 years of professional experience in development programmes related to human rights and financial management processes.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
- Have good report-writing and drafting skills.
- Be able to work effectively within a multicultural team.
- Be able to work independently and meet deadlines.
