The German Jordanian University (GJU), in cooperation with Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences and with support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), is offering 2026/2027 undergraduate scholarships in Translation for the B.A. Translation (German-English-Arabic) program.
The scholarship targets academically outstanding students from Jordan and neighboring countries who wish to study translation in German, English, and Arabic at GJU. Applications for the Surplace Scholarships open in June 2026, with a final application deadline of August 31, 2026.
Benefits
The Surplace Scholarship includes:
- Financial support of EUR 2,500 per year.
- The scholarship amount is paid in two installments during the academic year.
- The funding contributes toward covering part of the tuition fees at the German Jordanian University (GJU).
- The scholarship may be renewed in subsequent academic years if the student maintains a cumulative average above 80%, subject to continued availability of funding.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must:
- Intend to enroll in the B.A. Translation (German-English-Arabic) program at the German Jordanian University.
- Be from Jordan or one of the neighboring countries.
- Have a high school average, or equivalent qualification, of at least 70%.
- Demonstrate a strong academic profile suitable for competitive scholarship consideration.
- Submit a strong motivation letter.
- Pass a personal interview if invited.
- Pass the English and Arabic language proficiency tests if invited.
- Maintain a cumulative average above 80% in subsequent years in order to remain eligible for scholarship renewal.
