The Commissions for Developing Countries is now accepting applications for the CDC Project Support Program for the year 2021.
About the Program:-
- Under the Mathematics Projects Support Program, the CDC supports capacity building projects and programs in mathematics and mathematics education, be they international, regional or local initiatives in developing countries. The CDC members evaluate and select the grant recipients.
- This program supports higher education and capacity building projects as well as local initiatives in mathematics and mathematical education, be they international, regional or local initiatives in developing countries (IMU definition).
- Research projects are not eligible.
About CDC:-
The Commissions for Developing Countries (CDC) is a commission of the International Mathematical Union (IMU) and was established in 2011. The CDC has the mandate to manage all IMU initiatives in support of mathematics in the developing world. Besides administering the Grants Programs for Mathematicians as well as the Volunteer Lecture Program, the CDC takes part in some other types of activities in accord with various aspects of its mission like: research, support of local initiatives, support of Educational and Local Capacity Building Programs, exploration of funding and grant opportunities of new and existing sponsors and development of proposals and joint activities with partner organizations.

Benefits
In cases in which funding is granted, CDC grants will normally be in the range of 1.500 to 5.000 €. Exact amounts will depend on the mathematical quality and impact and on budget constraints.
Eligibility criteria
- In the case that support is granted by the CDC, the grantees are required to:
- Name IMU - CDC as sponsor of the project (in all publications, announcements e.g.).
- Submit after the project (within six weeks):
- A short scientific or activity report (please use the online report form)
- An itemized detailed financial report on the use of their project funds listing the supported mathematicians as well as their contact details.
- Send five pictures of the project and those benefiting from the project to CDC (Administration in the IMU Secretariat).
- The projects should start between November 1, 2021 and October 31, 2022.
