Opportunity description

The World Health Organization (WHO) is the directing and coordinating authority for international health within the United Nations system. WHO works to ensure that everyone can attain the highest possible level of health through partnerships, empowering individuals and communities, and strengthening effective responses to health risks.

WHO offers a unique international volunteer opportunity for youth to join as a Graphic Design Assistant at its Regional Office in Cairo, Egypt, through the United Nations University Volunteer program. The volunteer will support the Strategic Communications for Health Unit in creating visual materials and digital health campaigns aligned with the Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being.

Duties & responsibilities


    • Design interactive visual content for WHO social media platforms, including quote cards, infographics, animated GIFs, and more.

    • Prepare promotional materials for health campaigns and events (e.g. flyers, brochures, posters).

    • Collaborate with production and printing teams to deliver high-quality, ready-to-publish files.

    • Present visual proposals that reflect the organization’s branding and identity.

    • Stay updated with the latest trends in digital and visual design.


Eligibility criteria

  • Must be a non-Egyptian national (international opportunity).

  • Must be a Chinese national enrolled in a university participating in the CYVA program.

  • Aged between 18 and 80 years.

  • Minimum one month of experience in graphic design.

  • Good command of English (spoken and written).

  • At least secondary education, preferably pursuing or holding a degree in graphic design or a related field.

  • Proficiency in design software and strong creative fundamentals.
