International Festival and a Competition for Short Films and a Chance to Win Amazing Prizes from Film Freeway

Film Freeway is pleased to announce the events of the Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival in its 16 edition and a competition for short films. The films can be edgy, they can be groundbreaking and they can be downright hilarious. The film festival will run four-day October 6 – 9, 2022, and includes up to 30 sessions of brilliant short films, parties, live music, interactive masterclasses, and hearty discussions.

If your film is among the selected ones, you will have one of:

• A range of significant cash prizes. 
• A range of jury awards, which this year include but are not limited to:
• Best Short Film
• Best Australian Short Film
• Best Student Short Film
• Best Cinematography
• Best Script

You should follow the following criteria:

• Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival is open to all film genres and films from all countries. 
• The producer grants the festival the rights to:
• Exhibit the film at the 2022 Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival.
• Exhibit the film at any tour, screening, or event which is organized by or affiliated with the festival in the six months prior to and the twelve months subsequent to the 2022 Festival.
• Use extracts from the film for promotional purposes.
• The producer warrants that he has obtained all the necessary permissions to enter this film and that the film does not infringe the rights.
• Entries will not be considered valid until the entry fee has been paid in full. 
• The entry fee is non-refundable.
• Entries cannot be withdrawn after submission.
• If your film is selected for the competition you will be sent a letter of confirmation no later than 14 August 2022.
• Films in languages other than English must be supplied with English subtitles.
• The Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival will only screen productions finished As a high-resolution Apple ProRes, H.264 or MP4 digital file.
• Please also ensure your films are supplied with a stereo mix only and not a Dolby 5.1 mix.
• Please do not send a DVD directly to the festival.

Festival Timeline:

• Opening Date: February 18, 2022.
• Final Deadline: July 1, 2022.
• Notification Date: August 21, 2022.
• Event Date: October 6 – 9, 2022.
