The Institut français is the official French institution responsible for promoting French culture internationally through support for the arts, cultural dialogue, and exchange of expertise.
Cité internationale des arts is a renowned artistic institution located in the heart of Paris. It was founded to host artists from around the world and provides a stimulating environment for creative and artistic production.
The "Institut français x Cité internationale des arts" program offers artists and cultural professionals, who have been residing outside their home countries for at least 5 years, the opportunity to develop a research or creative project in Paris for a period of 3, 6, or 9 months, within one of the most vibrant artistic environments in Europe.

Co-financed residency
The Institut français provides the residential studio space at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris,
while a partner organization must commit to covering the following:
What the partner organization covers:
Monthly stipend: At least €1,000 per month throughout the residency.
Travel expenses: Round-trip flights or transportation.
Health insurance, including:
Accident insurance
Medical expenses
Civil liability
Repatriation (in case of emergency)
Visa: Assistance with obtaining a visa for the full duration of the residency.
What Institut français provides:
Fully furnished studio apartment at the Cité internationale des arts in the historic Marais district of Paris.
Includes: workspace, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and Wi-Fi access.
Important Note:
Artists cannot apply independently. A partner organization must nominate them and commit to covering the financial requirements listed above.

Eligibility criteria
Artists must have been residing outside their country of origin for at least 5 years.
No age or nationality restrictions.
A nominating partner or institution is required to provide financial and logistical support.
Applicants must present a genuine artistic or research project that can be developed during the residency.
