The Tokyo International Foto Awards (TIFA) has opened entries for its 2026 edition, an international photography competition and awards program that aims to discover and recognize talented photographers from around the world while connecting their work with new audiences and the creative community in Tokyo, Japan.
The competition welcomes entries from professional, non-professional, and student photographers, through either single images or photo series, across a wide range of categories including advertising, film, architecture, editorial and photojournalism, fine art, nature, people, portfolio, and specialized photography.

Eligibility criteria
- The competition is open to photographers from all around the world.
- Applicants must be 18 years old or older.
- Professional, non-professional, and student photographers may participate.
- A professional photographer is defined as someone who earns the majority of their income from photography.
- Professional photographers are judged against other professionals, while non-professionals and students compete within their respective categories.
- Submitted images must not be more than 5 years old, except in the Portfolio category, which has no time restriction.
- The same image may be submitted to more than one category.
- There is no limit on the number of entries that may be submitted.
- Photographers retain all intellectual property rights to their work.

Professionals
- Single image: €30.
- Series of 2 to 9 images: €40.
Non-Professionals
- Single image: €20.
- Series of 2 to 9 images: €25.
Students
- Single image: €15.
- Series of 2 to 9 images: €20.
Portfolio
- Entry fee: €50.
Image Requirements
- Digital submissions only.
- Image format: JPG.
- Color profile: sRGB.
- Minimum shortest side: 1,000 pixels.
- Maximum longest side: 4,000 pixels.
- Maximum file size: 4 MB.
- For photo series, images should be arranged in order of importance, with the strongest image placed first.
- In the Book category, applicants may upload a complete PDF of the book with a maximum file size of 4 MB.
