iREPRESENT International Documentary Film Festival in its Eighth Edition and a Competition for Filmmakers

Film Freeway is pleased to announce the events of iREPRESENT International Documentary Film Festival in its 8th edition. It invites talents from across the globe to share ideas on trends and technological advancements in the format. iREP is conceptualized to create a platform of awareness and expression for aspiring and practicing filmmakers who are creating socially relevant documentary films to positively impact the world.

If you participate in this festival, you will have the chance to:

• Full engage an array of trans-cultural creativity.
• Access to a forum for everyone’s ingenuity to be showcased without prejudice to style or subject.
• Celebrate some of the best minds in the film industry.

You must follow the following terms:

• iREP is a documentary film genre-specific festival, it does not accept any other film genre apart from the documentary.
• iREP is a free attendance festival, it does not pay screening fees to filmmakers for films submitted to the festival.
• Film(s) submitted must reflect the African experience i.e. the subject matter must address or celebrate issues in Africa.
• Films not shot in the English language must have standard English language subtitles at the time submitted. 
• Dialogue lists will not be accepted.
• You must own the copyright of the film.
• A synopsis of the film (not more than 450 words) must be submitted.
• A poster or frame grabs from the film must be submitted.
• Filmmakers must supply the following detail:
• Film Title.
• Duration.
• Director.
• Year of Production.
• Country of Production.

Timeline:

• Opening Date: December 20, 2021.
• Regular Deadline: January 31, 2022.
• Notification Date: February 17, 2022.
• Event Date: March 17 – 20, 2022.
