Opportunity description
The Executive Committee of the Triennale of KOGEI in Kanazawa, Japan, organizes the Kogei World Competition, an international competition showcasing new ideas in craft. The competition aims to solicit craft artworks applying a contemporary perspective to craft techniques or materials in a way that is both unique and expressive.
Works in genres and media such as ceramics, metalwork, textile, lacquer, wood, bamboo, glass, dolls, leather, cloisonné, paper, and other fields are welcomed, as are works combining craft techniques and materials.
Both three-dimensional and flat works will be accepted.
Only one work per artist(s) can be submitted.
Entry fees: Free.
Prizes:
- Grand Prize: 1,000,000 JPY (1 winner)
- Second Prize: 500,000 JPY (1 winner)
- Special Recognition Award: 200,000 JPY (3 winners)
- Next Generation Award: 100,000 JPY (2 winners)
