What Is the Thyssen@KWI Fellowship?
Funded by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation, the Thyssen@KWI Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for more experienced postdoctoral scholars. This fellowship is ideal for researchers with an established academic record and strong international networks. Applicants must submit a project proposal closely linked to KWI’s thematic priorities.

Degree Level:
KWI Germany International Fellowships 2026 (Fully Funded) is available to undertake Fellowship level programs at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (KWI).

Available Subjects:
Following subjects are available to study under this fellowship program:

  • Sociology
  • Cultural Sciences
  • Humanities

  • Up to 6 years postdoctoral experience (KWI International Fellowship)
  • Several years post-PhD experience (Thyssen@KWI Fellowship)
  • Strong research proposal relevant to KWI’s agenda
  • Excellent command of English (working language at KWI)
