Kultur- und Initiativenhaus Greifswald e.V., in cooperation with UNITED SOCIETIES OF BALKANS, offers an individual volunteering opportunity through the European Solidarity Corps in Thessaloniki, Greece, as part of the Balkan Hotspot media and cultural project. The program enables volunteers to participate in media content creation through blogging, radio, video production, and social media, while also supporting social and cultural initiatives and promoting dialogue between young people and the local community. The volunteering period runs from 1 September 2026 to 31 May 2027 and is open to participants residing in Germany who wish to gain international experience in media and community engagement.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Create content using tools such as blogs, radio, video, and social media platforms.

  • Engage with and support the local community in Thessaloniki.
  • Contribute to creating spaces for dialogue, freedom of expression, and youth engagement.
  • Promote the values of solidarity, active participation, and youth involvement in line with European Union objectives.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants must be residents of Germany.
  • A strong interest in media, journalism, and communication activities is required.
  • Willingness to collaborate with other volunteers and engage with the local community.
  • No previous experience is required.
  • Applicants should indicate their preferred start date and desired volunteering duration in the application.
  • Candidates must be available to participate in an online interview with the USB organization.
