UNICEF Guinea-Bissau is accepting applications for a remote United Nations volunteering opportunity in video production, video editing, and visual content creation, aimed at supporting UNICEF’s campaigns, communication materials, and media presence related to its work in the country.

This is one of the international online volunteering opportunities suitable for creatives and individuals with experience in video editing, video production, visual content creation, and design. Volunteers will produce videos highlighting the activities of UNICEF Guinea-Bissau and helping raise awareness of the situation of children and the organization’s efforts to support them.

UNICEF is seeking two volunteers to work remotely for 12 weeks, for approximately 16 to 20 hours per week, under the supervision of the Communication Officer at UNICEF Guinea-Bissau and in collaboration with the communication team.

Duties & responsibilities

The volunteers will contribute to:

  • Producing 20 videos for use in UNICEF campaigns, communication activities, and media visibility.
  • Developing initial designs and content products tailored to target audiences, including the general public, donors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Following UNICEF’s visual identity and branding guidelines.
  • Preparing initial video drafts according to UNICEF’s requirements.
  • Discussing video content with the Communication Officer and communications team.
  • Making required revisions based on feedback from the UNICEF team.
  • Developing content according to the requirements agreed upon with the team.
  • Using the materials and reference information provided by UNICEF to produce the required content.

Volunteers will receive the necessary design guidelines, corporate identity standards, and reference documents in advance.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants are preferably expected to have:

  • Previous professional experience in video editing and production.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in the field.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of English, which is required.
  • The ability to develop visual content according to specific requirements and guidelines.
  • The ability to receive feedback and make the required revisions to content.
  • The ability to work and coordinate remotely with an international team.
  • A university degree in Graphic Design or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Portuguese is considered an advantage, but is not a mandatory requirement.
