UNV offers an online volunteer opportunity to collect data using best practices in land restoration. The program is looking for about 25 volunteers to volunteer online in order to create a list of best practices related to land/forest/ecosystem restoration around the world. Volunteers will conduct online research and collect data on good practices in land and ecosystem restoration, such as stories, reports, articles, web addresses, etc., and then enter that data along with its sources, such as URL, author, and date of publication, into the data entry form provided by G20 Global Land Initiative Coordination Office.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Identify and collect best practices and case studies related to sustainable land management, restoration, and conservation efforts around the world.
- Conduct online research in their language and in their assigned area to identify best practices and case studies showcasing different land restoration projects, techniques and success stories.
- Gather additional information on best practices/case studies such as language, author, year of publication, country, location, and any other relevant details.
- Provide collected information to the project coordinator in a timely manner.
- Attend weekly coordination meetings with the project team to discuss progress, exchange information, and receive necessary guidance.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Excellent online research skills and experience conducting online searches to find relevant information.
- Interest and knowledge of sustainable land management and restoration.
- Ability to work independently and meet the deadlines.
- Good communication skills and proficiency in working in their assigned language/region.
- Attention to detail and ability to organize and categorize information.
- It's preferred to have a working knowledge of English.
