Opportunity description
The World Health Organization (WHO) is offering a 12-week online volunteer opportunity to support its Mentorship Programme and Community of Practice for Medical Laboratory Quality Management Systems. The volunteer will assist in organizing webinars, supporting Q&A and discussion sessions, documenting learning outcomes, and facilitating knowledge exchange among health laboratories across countries in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. This opportunity provides valuable professional experience for individuals interested in laboratory quality systems, public health, and capacity-building within a diverse international environment.

Duties & responsibilities
- Support the organization and coordination of webinars and virtual sessions for the Community of Practice.
- Assist in managing Q&A discussions during Project ECHO meetings and learning sessions.
- Document discussions, key insights, and learning outcomes, and prepare summary reports.
- Help prepare activity reports and webinar documentation.
- Support knowledge-sharing and communication between participants and subject-matter experts.
- Contribute to enhancing mentorship activities and continuous professional learning initiatives.
Eligibility criteria
- Academic background in Medical Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or a related field.
- Understanding of laboratory quality management systems based on ISO 15189:2022 standards is preferred.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in laboratory quality improvement, training programmes, or capacity-building initiatives.
- Strong documentation, analytical, and coordination skills.
- Ability to use digital collaboration tools and virtual meeting platforms effectively.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset.
