The United Nations Volunteers program, under the International Volunteer Year 2026 (IVY 2026) initiative, announces a fully online volunteering opportunity to support the volunteer knowledge portal and content coordination. This opportunity aims to help National Focal Points collect, organize, and publish content related to volunteering initiatives, events, stories, and good practices.
Volunteers will coordinate content with National Focal Points in Europe and Central Asia, review materials before publication, prepare short summaries, and upload information to the knowledge portal in an organized and clear way. This will contribute to documenting global volunteering efforts and strengthening knowledge exchange between countries.

Duties & responsibilities
- Communicate with assigned National Focal Points to collect content and updates for publication.
- Coordinate work with one or two National Focal Points as needed.
- Review submitted content to ensure it is complete, well-formatted, and consistent.
- Upload and organize content within the knowledge portal.
- Prepare short summaries and descriptions for events and initiatives.
- Follow up on pending materials and create a simple tracking table to monitor content status.
- Support quality assurance and ensure consistency of metadata for published materials.
- Coordinate with the IVY team regarding publication timelines and follow-up steps.
- Participate in an online orientation session if needed.
Eligibility criteria
- The applicant must have an educational background or experience in one of the following fields:
- Communications.
- International Relations.
- Knowledge Management.
- Public Administration.
- Journalism.
- Development Studies.
- Or any related field.
- The applicant must have experience in content management, working on websites, content management systems (CMS), or knowledge repositories.
- The applicant must be able to summarize information clearly and accurately.
- The applicant must have attention to detail and the ability to maintain content consistency.
- The applicant must have coordination and communication skills to work with multiple entities and stakeholders from different countries.
- The applicant must be able to organize information and manage deadlines.
- Fluency in English is required.
