The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is offering an international volunteer opportunity for the position of Communication Officer in Juba. The selected volunteer will support the development and implementation of UNICEF’s digital content strategy, produce human-interest stories and multimedia content, manage digital campaigns and social media platforms, and strengthen the organization’s visibility by highlighting the situation of children and women and the impact of humanitarian and development programmes. The role also involves preparing communication materials, managing website content, analyzing digital performance, and supporting advocacy and fundraising efforts.

Duties & responsibilities
- Develop and implement the digital content strategy for UNICEF’s platforms in South Sudan.
- Create human-interest stories and communication content for the website and social media channels.
- Produce and coordinate visual materials, multimedia content, and digital campaigns.
- Monitor and analyze digital performance metrics and prepare analytical reports.
- Manage donor-related content and enhance the visibility of partners and supporters.
- Cover programme activities and field missions, producing content that highlights their impact.
- Support advocacy, awareness-raising, and fundraising initiatives.
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in communications, media, journalism, or digital content creation.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Experience in digital content management and social media administration.
- Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and under pressure.
- Applicants must be nationals of a country other than South Sudan.
